Airtel Kenya now has a Data Management feature
Years after Safaricom launched a data manager; Airtel has also done it in their most convenient way possible. The company yesterday rolled out a data management feature for all of its customers.
Airtel Kenya has been testing this feature since forever and it has been only available for a few select users.
I was fortunate to get it working on my line. It works as expected. However, I won’t assume the few customer complaints I have bumped across on social media about the feature not being able to activate on some SIM cards. This might be a slight glitch and I hope the company will iron these issues soon.
But let us rejoice, at least the company delivered their promise after a very long period.
To set up the Airtel data manager feature is pretty easy; Dial *544#, then choose Option 12 which is located on the next page. From there, you can check your status, activate or even deactivate the feature.
With the data management feature, gone are the days when your credit will be devoured just because your data bundles ran out. Despite this being a feature that people won’t yap about; it is an excellent addition.
Airtel Kenya has so far been the lagging ISP to provide the data management feature in the country.
Other ISPs like Safaricom, Telkom, and even Jamii Faiba also have a data management feature. The latter released this feature silently at the end of October after the company redirected the usual faiba4g.co.ke site to its main jtl.co.ke website.
