List of Manufacturers To Ship Android 10 To Their Devices This Year

Android 10 Google’s latest Android version officially debuted on September 10. So far, only a handful of devices have been updated to the newest version. Or, if you are lucky enough, you can get yourself one of the few phones that have launched with the new version of Android out of the box.

Yesterday Google detailed a report on the progress of Android updates, showing that Android 9.0 Pie was the highly adopted version in its first year since the official rollout.

The company also released a list of manufacturers that we should expect to update some of their devices to Android 10 before the end of this year. The list includes ASUS, LG, Motorola, OPPO, Realme, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Transsion, and Vivo.

“Many manufacturers such as ASUS, LG, Motorola, OPPO, Realme, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Transsion, and Vivo have committed to updating some of their devices to Android 10 by the end of the year,” stated the company in a blog post.

Transsion is the owner of TECNO, Infinix, and itel. So, expect software updates on any of the newest devices from either TECNO, Infinix, and itel to receive updates soon.

TECNO’s Spark 3 Pro was part of the Android 10 beta program, so no surprises here – It will receive Android 10 stable build.

Moving forward, Google says things will continue to get better in terms of updates, thanks to Project Treble. The program hopes to make manufacturers push Android updates faster on time than what we have seen so far.

Project Treble will even result in faster Android updates. By having manufacturers under this program, Google says it resulted in a reduction of the average time to upgrade by more than 3 months.

“…we expect to see upgrades from Android 9 to Android 10 noticeably sooner this year.”
