Google Chrome Version 76 Now Available for Windows, Linux, and Mac; All you need to know

Google’s Chrome 76 update is now available and what this entail is no significant UI changes as you would expect. The new chrome version is 76.0.3809.87. The update patches a few things that had raised privacy concerns for Google earlier on.

One primary concern that Chrome 76 is patching is Incognito Mode detection that Google had earlier promised to crack on. As from now henceforth, websites will not be able to detect when you’re running Incognito mode –something which raised privacy concerns from Google.

We will see how sites with metered paywalls react to this although Google warned them against taking “reactive measures” to counter the patch.

Also, the update is intended to make shady sites find it hard to open unwanted pop-up ads.

Chrome Version 76 also moves a step closer to killing Flash; you will now have to re-enable flash every other time in order to play supported content since Chrome won’t remember this setting. Lastly, Chrome 76 now enables websites to detect the OS theme via CSS and can resultantly render the web pages adopting a similar OS theme.
