The GreenHouse Lab Accelerator has opened applications for early-stage female-led African tech startups.
The Lagos-based accelerator program is run by GreenHouse Capital in collaboration with Google Launchpad. It is a three-month accelerator program, aiming at female-led tech Africa startups and tech startups with innovative solutions that tackle problems facing women. African run start-ups domiciled overseas with products that are scalable in African markets are also eligible to apply.
The curriculum of the program is delivered by Google mentors and industry experts.
Selected startups will get access to a global network of mentors and investors, and the opportunity to work from the Vibranium Valley tech hub. Eligible startups will each receive an investment of $100,000 and additional potential investments from other investors during the program.
To be considered for the program, applicants must be an early-stage tech startup with at least one female member on their founding or leadership team. They must also have identified a critical need in Africa and is building an effective, sustainable and scalable solution. They must have a team consisting of at least two members including one technical member and also developed, at a minimum, a beta-product and be in the process of refining a go-to-market strategy, building out sales channels and generating revenue
The startups must be extremely passionate about their chosen vertical and demonstrate the necessary commitment to building the company of their dreams.
The three-month accelerator begins in mid-August and ends in mid-November. Selected start-ups will be required to commit 2 employees to the program for up to 3 days a week in Lagos.
