Raspberry Pi has gained massive applications in the tech industry. It’s one form of hardware that has extensively used by people from different perspectives to help make their DIY perks a success. Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is the new mini Computer that has been unveiled by Raspberry.
It features notable improvements over the last generation model. Raspberry Pi 4 comes with eight ports out of the box; two micro-HDMI ports with 4K support, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a true Gigabit Ethernet and USB-C port for the power brick.
Other specs include a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 which is an upgrade from Bluetooth version 4.1 in the last gen Raspberry Pi 3. There’s also a microSD card reader.
On the processor side, Raspberry 4 features Broadcom’s BCM2711 chip that utilizes four ARM Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. With all due improvements to the maximum, Raspberry should function the same as an entry-level x86 based PC.
This year’s version is a bit expensive than the Raspberry Pi 3.0 launched last year. However, with the new upgrades on-board, there is nothing to complain about. Raspberry 4 uses the LPDDR4 RAM and comes in three variants; 1GB, 2GB and 4GB RAM model. The cheapest goes for $35 that’s the 1GB variant while a board stacked with 2GB will cost you $45, and the 4GB one goes for $55.
For those who may need a full set; inclusive of a mouse, keyboard, microSD card, casing and also a bonus book of projects only need $120.
