Huawei launches Honor 20 Pro and Honor 20 running Android 9.0 Pie


This week you can’t talk about Huawei without remembering the US ban that has escalated in the media in the past week. However, despite the hostility the company is facing from the US, Huawei subbrand Honor has just announced another device in the Honor flagships. Huawei Honor 20 Pro and Honor 20 were launched yesterday in Battersea Park in London, UK.

The device packs a 6.2-inch display with 2,340×1,080 pixels having a 415 dpi. The screen is bezel-less with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6%. The selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole to achieve a high screen-to-body ratio. Still with the current issues ongoing Honor 20 lite and Pro runs on the latest version of Android 9.0 Pie. With the Honor flagships, you don’t get the EMUI skin unlike in other Huawei devices.

Honor 20 Pro packs a 48MP standard camera lens with a 16MP ultra wide-angle lens and another 8MP telephoto lens with clear 3x zooming without losing quality.

Honor 20 Pro packs an Octa-Core Kirin 980 processor -latest from Huawei and runs on 8GB RAM while Honor 20 Lite runs on 6GB of RAM on the Kirin 710 Octa-Core Processor. Internal storage is variant with the pro version packing 256GB while the Lite version packs 128GB. The internal storage is expandable via NanoSD for the Pro while you get more advantage for picking the Lite since you can still employ your MicroSD card or opt for the new generation NanoSD card.

Both devices are fingerprint ready, but the pro hides the sensor on the right side edge. There isn’t much to talk about the Front camera which both devices have a 32MP lens with an f/2.0 aperture harbored in a 4.5mm punch hole. Similar to what you get in the Huawei P30 Pro.

Regarding charging each phone features a 22.5W fast charge ability which ensures the battery is half-filled within 30minutes. On battery capacity, the regular Honor 20 is powered by a 3750mAh battery while the Pro braces ahead with a 4000mAh battery.

Device colors come with their fancy naming. Honor 20 comes in either midnight black or sapphire blue while the Pro is available in either Phantom blue or Phantom black. The devices will be selling at a price of €499(approx. KES 57,000) for the regular variant while the Pro version is priced at €599(approx. KES 68,000 ).
