Its official, the TECNO SPARK 2 is now available in Kenya

Yesterday we told you that we had spotted the TECNO SPARK 2 on e-commerce site Jumia. We were not really sure if TECNO had officially launched the device but it looks like they did. The company has announced that that it has officially launched the smartphone, which is the second version from the TECNO SPARK series.

Compared to last year’s TECNO SPARK, the new TECNO SPARK 2 offers more in terms of features and design. It comes with a larger 6-inch HD display perfect for watching your favorite videos and viewing photos.

“We at TECNO Mobile are proud to say that, this is another great smartphone; this next generation device is designed for productivity and style’’ Stephen HA, Managing Director and General Manager of TECNO Mobile reiterated.

The TECNO PARK 2 also comes with an improved storage capacity– with two variants. There is the 16GB+1GB ROM and RAM (SPARK 2)  and the 16+2GB ROM and RAM (SPARK PLUS).

Both flaunt a 13 megapixels camera and are Android Oreo (Go edition devices) Remember Android Go is just a stripped-down version of Android designed to run on entry-level smartphones. The operating system, Google Play Store and all the Google apps have been reimagined to provide a better user experience on lesser hardware.  It is optimized to run on smartphones with 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM.

‘’The latest Android 8.1 (Go edition) is going to ensure an overall satisfactory general performance of the phone..” Stephen added.

Other TECNO SPARK 2 features include Face unlock and it will be available in four amazing colors such as Bordeaux red, midnight black, champagne gold and city blue. The phone can be purchased on Jumia today or from stores countrywide from the 18th of June for Ksh. 11,299.

We have a review unit with us so keep it here for more details and everything else you will need to know about the device.
