Facebook is adding a City Guides feature to suggest places and events to visit

Facebook is spreading its wings further to the tourism market. The company has introduced a new feature that will give users suggestions for events and places to visit while visiting numerous cities across the globe.

TNW reports that the feature was first spotted last year – but it looks like Facebook is now ready to roll it out. Though a limited number of users are reporting seeing it.

Known as City Guides, the feature will point you to popular attractions, upcoming events and places locals visit when you are visiting a city. For example, if you are a tourist visiting Nairobi, the feature will suggest to you to a popular joint in Nairobi you could visit or an event happening you could attend and possibly send notifications for the same.

We are not sure when Facebook plans to officially roll out this feature to everyone yet.  But of course, it will be something interesting to watch out for.

Have you seen the feature yet? If so, please share with us your thoughts in the comments. We will keep sharing more details as soon as we get them.
