Twitter just expanded its GIF support size limit to 15MB

GIF lovers, some good news here for you.  Twitter has expanded the size limit for GIF support to 15MB, three times larger that the old 5MB size limit.

Now you won’t have to tweet those GIFs that end too soon. Twitter quietly updated  this on its FAQ with the change, a welcome move for companies who use GIFs in tweets to illustrate their products and services.

An article published on CNBC describe GIFs as the future of advertising. Unlike emojis, GIFs can be monetized and  are realizing they can seamlessly become a part of this visual language that is already being shared around the Web. GIFs are particularly well suited for marketing movies and TV shows because scenes can easily be trimmed down into a GIF.

The expanded support is only available on Twitter.com and hasn’t made its way to TweetDeck yet.
