The Galaxy A (2016) Smartphones now in Kenya

Samsung Electronics has today announced the release of the Galaxy A (2016) smartphones into the Kenyan Market. The Galaxy A (2016) incorporates Samsung’s latest in innovative design and technology in what the company says is to give its consumers the ability to express their individuality

The launch comes just weeks after Samsung released an exclusive first Galaxy A (2016) TV commercial to make consumers aware of this new family of smartphones.

The Galaxy A7 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) are both powered by 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos processors, sport 1080p Super AMOLED displays (5.5 inches and 5.2 inches, respectively), and come with 13 MP and 5 MP cameras (rear and front). The A7 has 3 GB of RAM and a 3300 mAh battery, while the A5 has 2 GB of RAM and a smaller, 2900 mAh ba Galaxy A3 (2016),.

The Galaxy A3 (2016) on the other hand sports a 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, and it’s powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Exynos processor. Other features include 1.5 GB of RAM, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 2300 mAh battery. All handsets offer 16 GB of expandable storage space, and run Android Lollipop (upgradeable to Android Marshmallow).

“At Samsung, we are committed to continued innovation, inspired by the feedback and needs of our wide range of consumers,” said Jung Hyun Park, the Vice President of Samsung Electronics East Africa Ltd. “With the introduction of the Galaxy A (2016), we took the consumer feedback on our original Galaxy A models and made thoughtful and impactful improvements offering consumers a seamless convergence of style and performance for their everyday lifestyle.”

The Galaxy A (2016) continues the latest Samsung Galaxy design heritage, combining metal and glass to create a beautifully harmonious premium design and provides superior viewing experience with narrower bezel.

The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2016) also come with a fingerprint verification feature which allows users to secure their personal content using their finger as opposed to the traditional password or secure pattern method.

With the coverage of 4G network expected to increase in Kenya after Airtel and Orange received approval from the Communication Authority of Kenya to start test 4G technology on their networks last year, all the Galaxy A (2016) models come with the latest 4G LTE technology and Galaxy A (2016) series users will thus enjoy fast 4G speeds . Safaricom is the only operator currently offering the high-speed data technology.

The Galaxy A (2016) will be available in 3 versions in all Samsung Authorized dealer shops. The retail recommended prices are: Galaxy A7 at Ksh49,999, Galaxy A5 at Ksh43,999 and Galaxy A3 at Ksh31,999.
