Google might just be launching an online picture sharing and storage service that will no longer be part of the Google+ at the upcoming I/O even, if a report by bloomberg is anything to go by.

Recently, there have indeed been rumors that the company was working on a standalone service focused on images that will be independent of Google+.

According to Bloomberg, which cites people familiar with the plans, the new photo tool will let users post images to Facebook Inc. and Twitter Inc and  will probably be unveiled at Google’s annual software developers conference in San Francisco later this month.

Katie Watson, a spokeswoman for Mountain View, California-based Google, was however not ready to comment on rumors.

Google’s I/O conference is scheduled to take place in May 28-29 in San Francisco is expected to see some major announcements from the company.
