You got a boring Facebook friend who frequently posts boring posts? And you do not want to unfriend him or her. Well, Facebook has just come up with a solution for you that will be able to give you more control on what you see on your newsfeed from such friend.
The social media giant company has rolled out a new News Feed settings tool that will show users which people and pages they most frequently interact with and also those they’ve recently unfollowed.
With this new tool users can choose to sort by people, Pages or Groups posts, or see an overall summary. They will also Unfollow any friend, Page or Group they don’t want to see their stories in their News Feed.
‘’If you see a story you’re not interested in or don’t want to see, you can tap the arrow in the top right of that story to hide it’’ Facebook said in a blog post.
When users hide a story they will have the option to ask to see less from that person or Page.
‘’If you choose to see less, you are then given the option to unfollow them if you don’t want to see any of their stories in your News Feed’’ the company said.
Facebook says the News Feed settings will be available on desktop and mobile. The new options for giving feedback about your News Feed will however be available on desktop for now, and coming to mobile in the coming weeks.
