Microsoft Office rebranding to Microsoft 365 after 30 years

Technology giant Microsoft has announced a major rebrand for its popular productivity suite, Microsoft Office.

The suite that’s popular for tools such as  Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint will now be part of Microsoft 365. This is the major rebrand that Bill Gates’ company has made in over 30 years of the suite’s existence.

“In the coming months, Office.com, the Office mobile app, and the Office app for Windows will become the Microsoft 365 app, with a new icon, a new look, and even more features,” the company said in a statement.

In addition to the traditional Office features, Microsoft 365 will also include Teams, Clipchamp, Stream and Loop.

There is also a hub for all your files and documents, and custom tagging to group and organize content.

Microsoft has been reportedly pushing new developments for years. Two years ago, the company renamed Office 365 to Microsoft 365.

The corporation plans to maintain Microsoft Office as a legacy brand and customers will continue to enjoy  Office 2021 and Office LTSC plans.

However, the bundle of apps on Office will have a new logo and new design changes from November.  These changes will then be followed by the Office app on Windows, iOS, and Android all getting rebranded in January.
