Infinix enters the fintech space, launches a digital wallet

Mobile device manufacturer Infinix has launched a digital wallet to be integrated into its devices. Known as the  Infinix Wallet, the app was developed in partnership with mobile financial service provider PalmPay, to enable Infinix smartphone users easily access financial services on the go.

With the Infinix Wallet, the company seeks to tap into the growing digital credit and payment ecosystem that has witnessed incredible growth in various markets over the last couple of years.

The mobile app allows users to easily complete credit and balance account applications, mobile phone top-ups, daily shopping and money transfers.

Skye Chen, Head of Global Public Relations of Infinix, said, “We have benefited from the incredible developments of the digital economy and are fortunate to take a key role in building this digital ecosystem.”

He said that the partnership between PalmPay and Infinix, “will provide consumers with an unparalleled digital financial service experience. In the future, Infinix will work with more partners to extend the scope of Infinix Wallet services to cover more application scenarios to simplify digital finances for end-users.”

Features integrated into the Infinix Wallet will allow users to get instant credit, load bank cards and manage funds and simplify their payment for goods and services. In the Kenyan market, Infinix Wallet holders can use it for payment of services provided Safaricom, DSTV, Kenya Power and Nairobi Water.

With the load bank and cards feature, the app provides an easy way to access banking services on their mobile devices. You can add a third party bank card to the Infinix Wallet and be able to check balances, transfer funds, pay for goods, make repayments and classify spending statistics. Ultimately, this makes it very convenient for users as it gives them several choices while helping to keep track of their income and expenses.

“The partnership between Infinix and PalmPay will accelerate the rapid adoption of digital wallets, and connect valuable and high-quality services to end-users in more countries and regions. Additionally, it will also drive the rapid development of the digitization of financial services.” Sofia Zab, Chief Marketing Officer of PalmPay

The Infinix Wallet platform is a multi-purpose, multi-dimensional financial platform that is likely to be a game-changer. Its interoperability features that allow users to get loans, access a bank and make payments within a single platform is its biggest distinguishing feature in a market that’s growing rapidly.

The launch of Infinix Wallet is part of Infinix’s overall strategy to provide consumers with new, innovative products and services that will compete with traditional banks in terms of service quality and convenience, as well as strengthen its brand value.
