Pablo Escobar’s Brother Launches A Foldable Smartphone

After Samsung introduced us to the world of folding phones, more people want to cash in on this opportunity. The latest foldable device comes from the brother to deceased Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, Robert Escobar. Unlike the expensive nature of foldable devices from large companies like Huawei and Samsung, this one comes cheap at only $349.

The ESCOBAR Fold 1, as it is named, spots a 7.8-inch flexible AMOLED display with FHD+ (1920 x 1444 Pixels) resolution. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Series Octa-core processor clocked at 2.87GHz, working in tow with an Adreno 640 GPU.

It comes in two models. The low-end model ships with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage while the high-end variant with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM plus 512GB of storage.

The lower variant is priced at $349, while the high-end model will cost you only $499. A 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery is stacked inside to power the whole setup.

Other features of the Fold 1 include; 16 Megapixels f/1.8 + 20 Megapixels f/1.8 for Both Selfie & Back Photos, LTE Cat-18, Fingerprint Scanner, Dual Camera, Dual SIM, USB Type-C, Android 9.0 Pie, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Fast Charger, and VoLTE Support.

The device is already available for purchase through the Escobar Inc. website. Shipping is free anywhere in the world, and every device comes with a complimentary cover.

Speaking of his new device, Escobar’s brother clearly states he intends to be Apple. “I have told many people that I would beat Apple and I will. I cut the networks and retailers, to sell to customers phones that can fold for only $349, phones which in stores cost thousands of dollars by Samsung and others,” Robert Escobar told Digital Trends

On durability, he says that the phone’s screen is crafted from a special type of plastic and will not break. “My phone cannot break, because I did not have to make a glass screen like Samsung… Our special plastic is very difficult to break.”
