Digital payments leader Visa on Thursday hosted the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Tony Blair, at its Sub-Saharan Africa Innovation Studio in Nairobi.
According to a statement from the company, the visit was a reaffirmation of Visa’s commitment to digital transformation in the region, where the company is bringing in state-of-the-art technologies for digitizing payments.
These developments, the company says are at the centre of its work to drive the financial ecosystem in Africa with better and enhanced secure and inclusive payment solutions for individuals, businesses, and governments.
This visit has also served as a good platform for engaging discussions between Visa and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Both organizations have had an opportunity to delve into the possibilities of collaboration in helping drive the digital agenda for governments across Sub-Saharan Africa. A vision that would see public services modernized through the adoption of innovative technologies that will transform and make their operations efficient in view of better quality service to the citizens.
The Tony Blair Institute has over the years been a key force using technology to deal with some of the pressing challenges in the world.
