Facebook witnesses one billion users in a day: Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook_2336015bIn what Facebook CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg described as a milestone, one billion people used Facebook in a single day.

This “milestone” was reached on Monday, when “1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family, he said in a Facebook post. ‘’When we talk about our financials, we use average numbers, but this is different. This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world’’ He added.

Founded in 2004, the social media site has nearly 1.5 billion users who log in at least once a month, but new achievement was the most in a single day.

He said that he was proud of the Facebook community for the progress they have made. ‘’Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world. ‘’

The company also went ahead to release the following video to celebrate this milestone.
