Stick to your New Year’s Resolutions this February thanks to LG’s wearable tech

Following the long Christmas holiday, an obsession to cut weight is back! Despite Njaanuary, the need to keep fit remains a necessity.

According to the WHO report on Africa, life expectancy across Africa is improving significantly having jumped from 50.9 years in 2012 to 53.8 years in 2015. Instances of deaths resulting from major health risks – including lower respiratory infections, HIV– has decreased by half between 2000 and 2015.

In the generation we live in, the need to extend one’s life expectancy has become paramount. All around us, we see an increased number of millennials jogging on our footpaths in the mornings and evenings. If they are not jogging, they are clogging the few gyms in their residential areas.

As we join others in making New Year resolutions, it is important to invest in wearable technology that assists in fitness monitoring.

Moreover, where else to begin other than LG spearheaded this field with its Lifeband Touch and Heart rate earphones.

The Lifeband Touch features a bright, full-touch 4K OLED display making it quick real-time access to a full range of fitness data so wearers can track their progress and adjust their workout plans accordingly. Lightweight and simple to use, its unique motion-sensing algorithm automatically turns on the display when wearers rotate their wrists.

On the other hand, Heart Rate Earphones provide accurate heart rate data by measuring blood flow signals in the ear via PerformTek® sensor technology while also delivering excellent sound. Because of the unique physiology of the ear, wearers can get more accurate health and fitness metrics with LG’s Heart Rate Earphones than with other devices, especially when engaged in physical activity.

With both items, users are able to check incoming calls and messages; and control their music playlists without any disruption.

“The LG is committed to the wellness and fitness with its smart tech innovations in wearable gadgets. Even with our health mobile application, users are capable of synchronizing data collected by these devices,” said Ms. Maureen Kemunto, LG East Africa Assistant Marketing Manager.
