Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab A 7” into the Kenyan Market


Samsung has today launched the Galaxy Tab A 7’’ into the Kenyan market. The tablet joins the family of A series tablets: Galaxy Tab A 8” and 9.7 launched into the market mid last year

This year’s latest entry according to Samsung is positioned for consumers looking for their first compact and affordable 4G enabled tablet for work and play.

“The 7” form factor still remains an important part of our tablet business and is popular in emerging but highly advanced mobile markets like ours. With the 7” Tab A, users can augment their mobile experience further with a larger screen and battery than their regular smartphone.’’ Jung Hyun Park, Samsung Electronics East Africa Vice President and Managing Director said.

‘’On the other end, companies looking to deploy tablets for their enterprise mobility projects will now have a device that is more affordable, capable, secure and ready to take full advantage of the developing 4G infrastructure in the country for better connectivity and information sharing while on the move.” he added.

At just 8.7mm thin and weighing only 285 grams (LTE), the Galaxy Tab A 7” is comes with an improved compact body style. The 4G enabled Tab A 7” also features a powerful 1.5Ghz Quad core processor, and large 4000mAh battery.

The rear camera has also been improved over previous 7” Samsung tablet models and now comes in 5MP with auto-focus, a professional mode and a range of new camera effects including the ability to shoot animated photos (GIF’s).Those looking to store and carry around a large amount of multimedia and heavy applications are also catered for as the Tab A 7” now comes with an expandable memory capacity of up to 200GB. Avid readers will also benefit from a unique reading mode feature on the Tab A 7” that minimises eyestrain during prolonged browsing or e-book reading sessions.

The Galaxy Tab A 7” also comes with an improved kids mode (version 4.0) that makes it safe for child use by incorporating a variety of parental controls and content for a safe and fun experience for kids.

In addition, for the first time on a Samsung Tablet, the Tab A 7” now features an inbuilt FM radio application with recording function.

The new Galaxy Tab A 7” is available in Samsung experience stores and authorized dealers from a retail price of KES 20,999
