Samsung Galaxy A80 Goes on Sale in Kenya For Ksh.64,999


We already told you about the new Samsung Galaxy A80, Samsung’s first rotating camera phone. The phone was launched globally a few days ago and it’s already available locally for Ksh.64,999.

The smartphone also features a new Infinity Display panel. It also houses the newly launched Snapdragon 730G SoC.

During the global launch, Samsung said that the Galaxy A80 would be available for purchase through online and physical stores in select markets. Looks like Kenya was among the select markets.

Samsung Galaxy A80 features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) Super AMOLED ‘New Infinity Display’ panel with 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood as we mentioned, the phone has the octa-core Snapdragon 730G SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. runs Android 9 Pie with One UI on top. The Samsung Galaxy A80 runs Android 9 Pie with One UI on top.

The rotating triple-camera setup employs a 48MP+8MP configuration along with another 3D depth sensor. The 48MP sensor, on the other hand, clicks high-resolution images while the 8MP ultra wide angle sensor offers a field of view of 123 degrees. The 3D depth sensor offers “Live Focus” videos functionality, similar to what we have on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro.

Samsung says the rotating camera on the Samsung Galaxy A80 will allow people to seamlessly capture the world around them. When users select the selfie mode in the camera app, the three cameras automatically pop-up from the back of the phone and rotate.
