Safaricom introduces 3 Android Go devices in its latest Maisha Ni Digital Campaign


Safaricom has today launched three new 4G devices in the country – Neon Ray, Neon Nova and the Neon Storm under its latest Maisha Ni Digital campaign.

The Maisha Ni Digital campaign is a partnership between Safaricom and Google that seeks to give at least 10 million Kenyans access to the internet through their mobile phones. The aim of the campaign is to also increase smartphone uptake among Kenya’s feature phone users by offering affordable 3G/4G devices, convenient payment terms and personalised date offers.

In 2018, Safaricom introduced the Neon Kicka 4 which was retailing at Ksh.3,499.

According to a press statement from the company, with the introduction of this three new devices, customers will now have more options for phone upgrades through convenient payment plans and personalized data offers in the hope of digitizing 2 million Kenyans.

“At Safaricom, we aim to transform lives by providing solutions to our customers. With these affordable phone options that will allow our customers to enjoy superior digital experience without stretching their finances. The new 3G and 4G Neon phones will be an advancement towards inclusivity,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.

The Neon Ray (4G) runs on Android Go and will be priced at Ksh. 3,999, Neon Nova (4G) Android 9.0 will be Ksh 5,999 while the Neon Storm (3G) will be priced at Ksh. 3,499.

The phones are available at Safaricom shops countrywide, Safaricom dealer outlets and online via Masoko, Safaricom’s e-commerce platform.
