Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa listed among Top 20 Digital Economy leaders


Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom CEO has been named among the Top 20 Digital Economy leaders in Kenya by Digital Economy Magazine.

The CEO is among the 20 leaders who the Global digital economy-focused publication says are at the forefront of digitalization in the country. 

Ndegwa joined Safaricom in April 1, 2020, from Diageo where he served as the Managing Director of Diageo Continental Europe.

Others in the list include the CEO of Huawei, Kenya, Will Meng, Group CEO of Cellulant Kenya, Akshay Grover, Managing Director of Oracle Kenya, David Bunei, Africa Data Centres East Africa Managing Director, Dan Kwach, Mastercard East Africa Country Manager, Shehryar Bakht Ali, and Microsoft Kenya Country Manager Phyllis Migwi.

Adil El Youssefi, CEO, Rest of Africa Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Hardeep Sound, Regional Director SAP, Gituku Kirika, CEO Integrated Payment Services Limited (IPSL), Catherine Muraga, Managing Director Microsoft ADC, Ashish Malhotra, Managing Director, Airtel Networks, Shain Rahim, Country Manager at CISCO, Romana Rajput, country General manager at Interswitch EA Kenya Ltd, Shehryar Bakht Ali is Country Manager, East Africa at Mastercard, David Bunei is the Managing Director of Oracle Kenya, Mugo Kibati, CEO Telkom Kenya, Eva Ngigi-Sarwari, Country Manager of Visa Kenya, William Makatiani, CEO of Serianu Limited, Caroline Mukiira, GM IBM East Africa, Agnes Gathaiya, Country Director at Google Africa, and Richard Hechle, CEO Dimension Data are also in the list. 

Publisher of Digital Economy Magazine, Mr Akin Naphtal, said that the listing is to identify and celebrate top-level individuals who are promoting the digital economy and deploying innovative solutions in Kenya.
