Realme 9i with Snapdragon 680 and 5,000 mAh battery launched in Kenya


Realme has officially launched the realme 9i smartphone in Kenya. Launched on Thursday, the Realme 9i is the newest model in the number series after the realme 8 series and is also the first to be powered by a Snapdragon 680 6nm chip.

“The Kenyan market has seen a tremendous growth of demand for high quality mobile phones in terms of technology and performance that are pocket friendly. Therefore we are always keen on providing Kenyan users with our latest technologies, giving them the opportunity to experience the next level of power with the realme 9 series,” said Mildred Agoya, PR and Marketing Manager, realme Kenya.

The Realme 9i comes with a 6.60-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch (ppi) with a 90Hz refresh rate. Realme 9i is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and comes in 6+128GB and the 4+128GB variants.

The phone runs Android 11 and is powered by a huge 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

For the cameras, the Realme 9i on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.44 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. There is a single front camera setup for taking your favorite selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.1 aperture.

The Realme 9i runs Realme UI 2.0 is based on Android 11 and will be available in Kenya in two colour options – Prism Black and Prism Blue.

For the pricing, the phone will retail at Ksh22,999 and Ksh.21,999 for the 6+128GB and the 4+128GB respectively.
