Jumia is currently active in 14 African countries with more than 81,000 active sellers transacting online with millions of consumers. The e-commerce platform says it directly employs more than 5,000 team members in Africa. This are some of the arguments it is using to brand itself as African.

Listen to the podcast below together with some inserts from an interview I had with Jumia Kenya MD Sam Chappatte about the listing.

Africa Startup Roundup is a weekly podcast recorded at our Portable Voices studios highlighting the startup landscape in Africa.
