MwareTV announces availability of an entirely customisable OTT service for ISPs and telco operators in Africa

MwareTV, a leading cloud-based multi-tenant platform, has announced the availability to telco operators and internet service providers (ISPs) in Africa of a new, end-to-end TV solution.

Designed for cost-effective and rapid four-week deployment, the new solution includes approximately 100 channels of affordable African content. The TV solution is also fully customisable to represent each operators own branding, logo and identity.

The service acknowledges several recent developments that have made Africa’s telco market one of the most dynamic in the world. In particular, both mobile and fixed networks have grown significantly thanks to investment by telcos, who are now seeking ways of increasing monetisation and retaining subscribers. The MwareTV platform is an ideal method by which data traffic can be grown and the retention of subscribers enhanced.

Designed to suit the requirements of medium and larger telcos and ISPs, the MwareTV service is based around a ‘pay as you develop’ concept that means there are no high up-front costs. This allows subscription fees to be kept low, giving new services the greatest opportunity to achieve market traction quickly. MwareTV is able to work closely with any operator to create a profitable business case then bring the service to air, with fast deployment of only four weeks expected to be the norm.

As well as being offered as an OTT service to mobile and fixed network customers, telcos also have the option to use the platform for an IPTV offering. Service providers can also select content from a wide variety of TV genres, including news, sport, entertainment, movies and faith.

“At a time when Africa’s telco and streaming services are undergoing sustained expansion, MwareTV is able to provide a comprehensive end-to-end solution that provides a remarkable range of content to an ever-growing customer base. Developed to utilise existing infrastructure and allow viewers to watch TV on the device of their choice, it’s a genuine ‘plug and play solution’ without parallel in Africa at present. Underlining the appeal of the service, we are already in advanced talks with several major telcos and ISPs about deployments and expect to reveal details of the first few customers in the coming months.” Sander Kerstens, CEO of MwareTV, said.
