LG’s 2020 NanoCell TV Lineup Delivers Better Picture Quality

LG’s 2020 NanoCell TV lineup is almost heading to the shelves in Kenya. With the 2020 Lineup, LG is delivering up to 8K resolution (7,680 x 4320p) in its NanoCell display panels.

Most importantly, the 2020 NanoCell TV series are 8K certified by meeting standards set by the Consumer Technology Association. 8K UHD provides four times more detail than 4K UHD, in comparison.

The so-called “NanoCell” display is the real deal here promising better picture quality from the TVs. It uses uniformly sized particles to create more subtle, accurate colors that can be viewed from wider angles than other LCDs. This technology delivers consistent colors at wider viewing angles with virtually no color difference whether you’re positioned directly in front of the screen or viewing off- angle.

Contrast ratios are also high courtesy of Full Array Local Dimming and, most importantly, the combination delivers rich and deep blacks. Highlights are also brighter.

In simple terms, NanoCell technology is achieved by having Nano sized particles that are embedded on the color filter and helps in the following two things:

  1. absorbs unwanted light wavelengths
  2. enhances the purity of the red and green colors displayed on the screen.

The result of this is the ability of LG’s NanoCell TVs to display vivid images. Even in dark scenes, the NanoCell technology is able to display more clear details than conventional LCD panels.

The 2020 LG NanoCell TV lineup offers either 4K UHD or 8K display panels. The TVs will ship in variable panel sizes, the smallest being 49-inches and since bigger is better, there is an 86-inch model at the top of the line.
