Huawei Mobile Kenya has announced that it will soon be launching Huawei Y7a in the local market.
The Huawei Y7a according to Huawei will be the second mid-range device to come with super-fast charging after the Huawei Y9a that was released in 2020. The device has already been launched in Asian markets and isn’t pricey as the Y9a. We should expect Huawei to sell it locally for around Ksh.20,000.
Huawei Y7a boasts a 6.67″ FHD+ LCD panel, the company’s in-house Kirin 710A SoC, 4GB of memory, either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, and EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 on the software front.
The phone does not ship with Google apps, instead, you get GMS-Esque Huawei App Gallery that comes loaded with a number of new apps.
For the cameras, we will be getting a quad-camera setup at the back and a single selfie camera. The rear camera setup is headlined by a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is an 8MP camera placed in a center-placed hole punch at the top.
It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a microSD card slot (up to 512GB), a headphone jack, a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W wired fast charging, and a USB Type C port. The phone will be selling in three colors: Midnight Black, Crush Green, and Blush Gold.
Speaking of the soon to be launched smartphone in the market, Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head, Jim Zhujie said “This time around, Huawei brings its HUAWEI SuperCharge tech to mid-range models so that HUAWEI Y7a users won’t miss out on the perks of super-fast charging. The higher demand for a longer battery life calls higher charging efficiencies as well.”
