Huawei nova9 SE with 108MP camera officially launched in Kenya

Huawei Mobile Kenya has today officially unveiled its latest addition to the nova series in Kenya, the Huawei nova9 SE.

The phone has been up for pre-order since last week, and will now be available for purchase starting today for Kshs 39,999 in all retail stores across the country including Huawei Experience Stores.

This Huawei nova9 SE comes with a 6.78-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1,080×2,388 pixels and a 90 Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, we are getting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor alongside some 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The nova 9 SE is powered by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery.

For the cameras, the Huawei nova9 SE is equipped with a 108MP AI Quad Camera system, which comprises a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP Bokeh lens, and a 2MP macro lens. With more pixels, Huawei says the 108MP ultra-high-definition main camera allows users to unleash their creativity. It also supports Super Night Shots, Low Light Shot, and AI Snapshot. There is also a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

The nova 9 SE is powered by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery with support for 66W Huawei SuperCharge. It takes only 15 minutes to charge the smartphone up by 60%, or 36 minutes to fully charge it. Vouched for by the TÜV Rheinland Safe Fast Charge Certification, the nova 9 SE brings users a fast and safe charging experience.

The nova 9 SE runs EMUI 12  and comes in Crystal Blue, Midnight Black, and Pearl White colour options.

With EMUI 12, consumers can enjoy a buttery smooth experience. Thanks to One Hop Connection via near field communications (NFC), the Huawei nova 9 SE can pair with other Huawei devices directly; cross-device collaboration can be established with a simple tap. The display can be wirelessly projected or mirrored to a Huawei Vision, providing an expanded view that is perfect for watching films and playing games. When pairing the HUAWEI nova 9 SE with a Huawei smart watch, speaker or HUAWEI Vision, the experience is intuitive and effortless. With the Distributed File System, Huawei nova9 SE allows consumers to access files from their PCs. Alternatively, users can send files between the smartphone and other Huawei devices via Huawei share, or transfer MeeTime calls onto HUAWEI Vision and speak with up to 11 parties simultaneously by taking advantage of the larger display, camera, and speakers.

Huawei says the nova9 family is tailored for younger consumers, offering quality, well-designed smartphones that are equipped with flagship features but at a competitive price.
