Google’s blogger bans porn and other sexually explicit images

google-hqStarting March 23, 2015, you won’t be able to publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger, Google has announced.

Google has gone ahead to and given users one month to comply or get banned from hosting public blogs.

Previously, Google did allow images or videos that contain nudity or sexual activity on Blogger, instead it  simply asked users to mark such blogs as “adult”. If the blog administrators did so, the sites would be placed behind a warning page warning visitors about the adult content on the site.

We will still allow nudity “if the content offers a substantial public benefit, for example in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts,” Google said.

Back in July, Google stopped porn from appearing in its online ads. And in 2013, it went ahead and removed blogs from its Blogger that contained ads for online porn sites.
