Egyptian fintech startups called to apply for Orange Ventures seed challenge

Orange Ventures has opened applications for its Seed Challenge that will see the VC form award one fintech startup from Egypt with €500k in funding.

This comes a month after the VC opened its Orange Digital Centre in Cairo in December.

Orange Ventures is the corporate venture capital of Orange Group with €350m under management with a presence in Paris, Dakar, and Cairo. Orange Ventures is dedicated to investing in innovative startups in Orange’s strategic fields of interest mainly in Europe and in the Middle East and Africa.

It offers the startups in which it invests access to the Group’s expertise and the possibility to put in place synergies with the Orange Group’s many sales units and its 262 million customers spread across 26 countries.

Applications are open to seed-stage fintech startups based in Egypt that have raised less than €1 million in total equity funding.

Other than the funding, the winning startup will join the Orange Digital Centre for six months, gaining access to workspace and mentoring programmes, and have the chance to pitch to the executive committee of Orange Egypt and discuss partnership opportunities.

Applications for the Orange Ventures seed challenge close on February 15 and can be done here.
