Cameo Live lets you have a 10-minute call with your favorite celebrity

What would you tell your favourite celebrity if you had a chance for a 10-minute conversation with them?

Cameo is a new platform that has been experimenting with new ways for celebrities to engage their fans. You can hire actors, athletes, artists, and all kinds of celebrities to create personalized video messages. The videos you create can be shared as gifts for birthdays, holidays or any other personalized occasion, but they come at a relatively steep price.

Cameo claims thousands of celebrities are signed up on the platform, including popular and controversial politicians. They set up their own price and have the final decision on whether to honour the request to engage them or not.

The shout-out service is one-of-kind and has been around for a while, experimenting with various ways of connecting celebrities with their fans.

The platform first introduced the feature in June 2020 when it launched the first version of Cameo Live but closed down several months later. It then introduced Cameo Calls, a feature that would present users with a chance to make 15-minute calls, although most celebrities could reportedly be available for only two to three minutes of conversation. The company reduced the time set for Cameo Calls and now refers to it as a “two-minute meet and greet product.”

Cameo Live is the functionality that’s turning out to be a hot sensation among users. Among celebrities signed up to the service are Sean Astin (who played Sam in The Lord of the Rings films), Bonnie Wright (Ginny from the Harry Potter films), James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

How much for the service?

The celebrities’ profiles available indicate that users will be anything between  $250-  $2000. The new service allows you to invite up to nine friends to enjoy a conversation with a celebrity.
