AirDuka named overall winner of Kenya’s e-commerce startup of the year

AirDuka has been named the overall winner of the startup of the Year Award at the Kenya E-Commerce Summit and Awards 2022.

The Kenyan e-commerce marketplace which was founded last year beat more than 200 companies nominated for the award in over 30 different categories

AirDuka helps to give visibility to small businesses by bringing them online.

“The platform has all manner of sellers; from plumbers who can fix damaged pipes to dealers selling high-end electronics,” said Airduka CEO A’Maalik Varvany.

This model has seen the company gain a huge following over its short period of existence. The platform offers a simplified way of connecting buyers and sellers. Their main model of monetization is a choice of payment plans that allows you to get listed and enjoy a number of other benefits.

“The e-catalogue connects sellers and buyers on WhatsApp to enable both parties to trade directly. Each product on the catalogue also goes through search engine optimization to give a seller’s product greater visibility,” Airduka CEO expounded.

Airduka is in a competitive place and its pricing model which can be as low as Ksh.200 a month is attractive to entrepreneurs.
