This is How The New Instagram Business Profiles Will Look Like

Early this year, Instagram announced that it was working on rolling our a business profiles. What Instagram actually wanted to do make it as appealing as possible for brands to advertise their services or products, more of what Facebook does with pages, with special profiles.

We finally got a chance to see how the new business profiles will look like, thanks to a blog post on later.com.

It looks like Instagram is testing three new profile features that make your Instagram bio more like a Facebook page. The three profiles are not that different apart from additional features  like a contact button which when clicked, prompts you to either ”Get Directions” or ”Email” the account.

Another feature is ”Location” tag which gives you the ability to view the business location on the map. If you have noticed, finding location has always been one of the hardest things for both marketers and Instagram users, some users have always been forced to write their locations in the Instagram bio, but for now the new location feature will be able to take you to a mapped location, just like what Facebook does.

We also have ”Category” which just like on Facebook pages, makes it easy for for one to communicate to your followers what your account is all about. So you can chose to have your ”page” as a health/technology/business depending on the nature if your business.

Instagram’s Business Profiles are currently only available to a number  of users as the company continues to test and tweak the new changes. We are not sure yet when (or if) these features will be available to everyone.

  1. This would make things much easier for businesses to showcase themselves. Instagram is growing fast but according to me, user engagement will go down just like how Facebook went down after allowing more and more business features that made Facebook more of a marketplace than a social space.
