TechTrendsKE was among Kenya’s 10 digital information entrepreneurs feted by Internet service provider Liquid Telecom last week in the Liquid Telecom Information Enabler programme at an awards event at the Capital Club Nairobi.

The awards ceremony saw 10 winners announced, out of 14 total entries submitted. According to Liquid Telecom, all entries displayed exceptional content and cover a range of themes.

“The inaugural ‘Information Enabler’ programme speaks to the core of our vision at Liquid Telecom Kenya of creating economies where the Internet is absolutely transformatory, and inclusive,” Ben Roberts, CEO of Liquid Telecom Kenya, and one of the judges for the Information Enabler awards said.

The Liquid Telecom Information Enabler programme will be providing free, unlimited Internet usage and web hosting to the winner as the opening point of a programme of support for Internet information entrepreneurs.

The 10 finalists were selected and judged by Ben Roberts, CEO, Liquid Telecom Kenya, Ochieng’ Rapuro, Managing Editor at Nation Media Group’s Business Daily, and Professor Akello Jalang’o, from the faculty of Electrical and Communications Engineering at Multimedia University of Kenya.

Liquid Telecom Kenya’s social entrepreneurship programme targeted content start-ups as a key and complementary goal beside its vision of providing the Internet to every African in order to promote economic growth and development.
