OPPO F9 with VOOC integration launching this month in Kenya

OPPO F9 with VOOC integration launching this month in Kenya

OPPO’s next device in the F series, the OPPO F9 is set to launch in the country at the end of this month. The device will be the successor of the OPPO F7 which was launched in April last year. I wonder why OPPO moved from F7 to F9, I had actually expected to see an F8.

The OPPO F9 has actually been unveiled in other markets like India and Malaysia and one thing we know for sure is that it comes with VOOC integration for fast charging support.  It is also the first smartphone from the company to feature a V-shaped waterdrop display notch – unlike the traditional rectangular display notch we are used to. This design aims to minimize the notch and create more room for the screen. Well, notches are here to stay LOL!!

The OPPO F9 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) LTPS TFT display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. You also get a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC under the hood, coupled with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The smartphone has a 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB. You will also be getting two variants – 4GB and 6GB.

For the cameras. the smartphone has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor paired with an f/2.4 aperture, with an LED flash. There is also a 25-megapixel sensor along with an f/2.0 aperture.

The dual-SIM (Nano) OPPO F9 is also said to run ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and house a 3,500mAh battery.

About the pricing, we’re not yet sure but remember OPPO was selling the OPPO F7 for Ksh. 35,990. What this means is that we should expect the F9 to be priced slightly higher.

The device is launching this month, we are not sure about the exact date but you can follow or subscribe to our newsletter to ensure you don’t miss out on any updates.

“I wonder why OPPO moved from F7 to F9, I had actually expected to see an F8.” Remeber a question like this in kindergaten? ‘Oppo F1, F3, F5, F7…. What is the next model in the series?’
