images (9)MultiChoice has announced a price adjustment on DStv subscription fees in Kenya effective from 1 October 2015.

The increase according to the company is necessitated by Foreign exchange rate changes.  The continuous depreciation of the Kenyan Shilling against the US Dollar has negatively impacted the business -this is similar to other imported services where costs are originated in US Dollars.

For months, MultiChoice has held off passing through this price increase to subscribers and has absorbed the foreign exchange losses; however, it is no longer possible to avoid a price adjustment on DStv subscriptions.

As the leading video entertainment service provider we strive to continuously improve our services and product offering by providing our subscribers with the best viewer experience supported by great subscriber management services.

The DStv Premium, DStv Compact Plus, DStv Compact, DStv Family and DStv Access bouquets are available at varying pricing points allowing subscribers flexibility in price and choice without compromising quality or variety.

As a value add to our premium subscribers, they can also enjoy our video on demand services which offer quality and choice and can be accessed on any devise including mobile phones or tablets. These are:

      • Catch Up: for newly aired movies and the latest episodes of TV shows
      • BoxOffice: to rent movies via your decoder with no Internet connection required
      • BoxOffice and Catch Up Online: to rent movies and Catch Up online
      • DStv Now: to view live TV via the internet
      • SuperSport Live: to view live sports over the internet

This came after an uproar on Twitter where people protested over the announcement that DStv subscription rates were going to be hiked from October.
