Samsung has unveiled its first Android Go device, the Galaxy J2 Core in Kenya. The device started going on sale in the country yesterday and according to Charles Kimari, Head of Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics East Africa the new device is in line with the firm’s commitment to provide customers with inspiring technology and leading innovation across all device categories to fit their needs.
“The Galaxy J2 Core offers a complete smartphone experience, incorporating some of the key features available in high-end devices with an improved battery, storage and performance that is particularly appealing to first time owners,” he said.

- Resolution: 540 x 960 pixels, 16:9 ratio (~220 ppi density)
- OS : AndroidTM OreoTM (Go edition)
- Exynos 7570 processor
- 2,600mAh battery
- 8-megapixel f/2.2 rear-facing camera
- 5-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB of internal storage
The Galaxy J2 Core will be available at all Samsung Experience Stores, Safaricom shops and Authorized dealers across the country at a recommended retail price of Ksh 10,499.
