Blackberry is launching 3 Android devices, here’s what you need to know

Back in January, Blackberry announced its plans to release two Android smartphones. Most of us have been looking forward to this considering the poor sales the company has been recording recently.

Last year, the company released Priv, its first Android which again saw the Canadian company record terrifying sales results. It now looks like the company is just not about to give up. The company is said to be working on three additional android devices.

The devices are said to be codenamed Neon, Argon and Mercury and according to Android authority, this trio of new smartphones attempts to hit a variety of target audiences with their varied price points and specs.

The 5.2-inch Neon will be the first of these devices to hit the market probably this month (July) or in August. It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC and will also have a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The camera is said to be 13MP  rear and 8MP front.

Argon on the other hand should be the next device after Neon expected to be launched in October this year.  The 5.5-inch device will feature a Snapdragon 820 SoC with a 4GB of RAM. It will feature a 32GB of internal storage, a 21MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera for selfie lovers.

We should however expect to see the Mercury, the third device to Blackberry’s Android family in early 2017. Just like the Neon, it will be powered by 3GB RAM running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. It will feature an 18MP and 8MP rear and front camera respectively with an internal storage of 32GB.

We will be keenly following this and keep you up to speed with any developments as we get them. In the meantime we are looking forward to see how consumers are going to react to these new Android devices from Blackberry.
