Airtel hosts special Iftar for Muslim faithfuls in Mombasa County


Airtel Kenya, a leading telecommunications service provider yesterday evening hosted a special Iftar dinner for Muslim faithfuls at the Ummu Khulthum Mosque in Mombasa County.

The Iftar dinner was graced by Mombasa County Governor Hassan Ali Joho, Airtel Kenya’s CEO Adil El Youssefi, Chief Commercial Officer Abdallah Khamis as well as senior Muslim leaders from the County.

The company also donated water and dates to five Mosques in Coast region, as part of its support to Muslim faithfuls as they break their fast during this holy month.  The Mosques are include Jamia Mosque in Kwale County, Masqid Lootah- Buxton, Jamia Mosque in Kaloleni, Masqid Hudaa and Masqid Noor in Kilifi County.

Speaking at Ummu Khulthum Mosque, Mombasa County Governor Hassan Ali Joho welcomed the kind gesture from Airtel to the Muslim Faithfuls in Coast region and urged other corporates to emulate this remarkable spirit of sharing not only to the Muslims but also to other entities.

It is our desire to continue engaging with you and we are committed towards working with you and always grateful for your continued support.”  Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said.

Adil called on the Muslims faithfuls in the Coast region to take advantage of the Airtel Islamic Religious Portal where they can subscribe and access Qur’an recitations, receive prayer alerts and listen to Khutbah and prayers live from Makka among others. One can subscribe to the portal by dialing 0900730786 or sending the word START to 30786.
