Ahead of the Tecno Phantom 8 launch, here’s what we know so far

We have told you already about Tecno Mobile’s next Phantom, The Phantom 8. Tecno Mobile will be releasing this device on October Sunday 22nd in Dubai and expectations are very high.

In our previous article, we have told you a few things about the device and also that Tecno will be releasing two devices, the Phantom 8 and another bigger version, the Phantom 8 Plus. But what do we know so far regarding the launch and the phone’s specs?

First, just as we told you in our first article about this device, the Phantom 8 front facing camera now comes at a staggering 20 megapixels alongside a smart dual selfie flash. This should probably make people who love taking selfies excited. With this, Tecno Mobile says your selfies are just about to get an exciting new makeover.

What’s more we can confirm that the Phantom 8 RAM is boosted, yes, you will get a 6GB RAM, although some leaks suggest it will be 4GB and 64GB internal storage which the company says can be expanded to 256GB. This is interesting, definitely something worth checking out.

What else do we know? Yes, expect both the Phantom 8 and Phantom 8 Plus to come to run on Android 7.1 Nougat. The devices will also come with an updated chip and processors which is likely to be Mediatek Helio X30. It seems like Tecno Mobile really wants to get everything right with the Phantom 8.

In terms of security features, these devices will support fingerprint and the scanner will be located just below the dual back cameras. For the batteries, expect them to be a bit bigger so we are looking at something like 4000mAh for the Phantom 8 Plus but we can confirm the Phantom 8 will have a 3500mAh capacity.

We will have more details during the launch but again as I said, it looks like Tecno really wants to get everything right this time around.
